Surfrider Foundation Canada is dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the ocean, beaches, and waves, for all people, through a powerful activist network. 

Our Network

Our national network of chapter volunteers serves as the first response to local threats in coastal communities across Canada. They are the boots on the ground who collaborate on both the local and national level with regional staff and issue experts to carry out our mission through campaign, program and educational initiatives in their local communities.

the solutions you’ll help bring to life

  • Foam Free Waters

    Working to achieve a provincial and national ban on expanded polystyrene in aquatic infrastructure. Expanded polystyrene is one of the most common plastic pollutants we collect from shorelines.

  • Plastic Bans

    We’re advocating at all levels of government to continue banning single-use plastics, including plastic water bottles locally, plastic amenities in British Columbia, and cigarette filters nationally.

  • Water Pollution

    We’re continuing to conduct water quality monitoring in Victoria and Vancouver, and using our data to address the sources of upstream water pollution with local governments.

  • Beach Cleanups

    We conduct local and remote shoreline cleanups to remove plastic litter and marine debris from sensitive coastal ecosystems. We use the data to inform our plastic reduction campaigns.
